overview

The Atlas Lab at the UF College of Journalism and Communications is a state-of-the-art facility for students, faculty, and staff to develop expertise
in analyzing digital media dynamics, behavior,
and conversations.

I was asked to lead the art direction for the design of the interior space. As lead art director, I ensured that the environment was not only innovative

Atlas Lab Collaborative Space

The Atlas Lab social listening lab is a collaborative space for students, faculty, and researchers. The space ignites innovation through advanced technology and dynamic lighting.

Lighting Inspiration

Our team used innovative office spaces as a source of design inspiration. Our research showed that incorporating elements like open space and LED lighting creates a dynamic work environment that boosts productivity.

Atlas Lab Blueprint Diagram

Before diving into the aesthetics and interior decor of the lab, our blueprint provided a comprehensive visual representation of the space's physical structure and dimensions.

Mockups and Design Inspiration

Creating mockups was a key part of our design process, and helped us visualize the layout and composition of the main rooms. Components included furniture, lighting, and murals.
